Samantha & Garret's Downeast Maine Elopement

Samantha & Garret traveled to Maine all the way from Iowa to share a quiet elopement on the Atlantic Ocean. Originally they hoped to be married in Acadia National Park but once I learned that their #1 priority was solitude, I knew we needed a plan B. Acadia offers incredible backdrops but it's crowded as all get up during tourist and leaf season.

I scouted a few trails until I found the perfect one. Loaded with unique features like wild blueberry bushes, rocky beaches, open ocean views, mossy trails and woods; this spot offered incredible variety.

When their wedding day rolled around, I met them in Bar Harbor where I performed a quick 2 minute ceremony with witnesses at their bed and breakfast and then we jumped in our cars and drove an hour north where we spent 3 hours hiking together in the peaceful beauty of Maine's wild surroundings.

We capped off the evening with homemade ice cream.

Photographing their special day really filled up my cup and reinvigorated my love for photographing love.
