Morgan & Justin had been dating a year before deciding it was time to make things official. They considered holding a more traditional wedding but ultimately decided that a secret elopement was the best thing they could do to ensure that they could have their wedding just the way they really wanted it.
Both from Connecticut they were drawn to the beautiful mountains of New Hampshire. Their romantic ceremony was held before a crackling fire at the cozy Christmas Farm Inn.
A lovely bouquet was provided by the Inn.
The two opted to get ready together in their suite rather than apart, simply shrugging and saying "we're unconventional". While perhaps that's true, there was a sweetness to their alternative vision. You could feel their excitement as they prepared side by side.
They chose the hands reading for their ceremony:
"These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever.
These are the hands that will work along side yours as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief temporarily comes your way.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.
These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase down your dreams.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
These are the hands that will lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into eyes that are filled with overwhelming love for you.
And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch."
After their ceremony we set out to explore Jackson for their portraits.
The covered bridge is a must -take photo if you're having a wedding in Jackson, New Hampshire.
We explored the bridge and Jackson Falls which is beautiful this time of year.
Our last stop wasn't scheduled. As we drove through the mountains of the White Forest, we passed a gorgeous rugged cliff covered in blue ice. We shared a collective "oooo" when we saw it and so we stopped for a final portrait before returning home.
After their portrait shoot the pair enjoyed an intimate candlelit meal back at the Inn.
What an incredibly romantic day for these two. A quiet winter get-away with an amazing surprise to share with their loved ones when they return.
