You made it to my top 10 list of unique wedding venues in Maine that are ideal for your intimate wedding, elopement or micro-wedding. Many of these gorgeous locations offer Maine small wedding packages that could be perfect for your event. Questions about the venues? Contact me and let's chat about how I can help you plan an ultra- simple, intimate wedding that's kind on your budget and good for your soul.
In no particular order.....
1. Vesper Hill Children's Chapel- Rockport Maine
The Vesper Hill Children's Chapel is an outdoor chapel with formal gardens located between Rockport’s busy harbor and the fields of Aldermere Farms. Vesper Hill Children’s Chapel is a non-denominational outdoor chapel. The chapel can seat 50 people and is a break taking spot to say your vows.
2. Earth at Hidden Pond, Kennebunkport Maine.
Every detail at hidden pond has been carefully planned and executed. Its a venue that takes your breath away; its entirely romantic without pretense. Imagine having a small gathering around the well worn wood table of the potter's shed or the artists shed. Perfection.
3. King Hill Inn, South Paris Maine
The rolling quiet pasture setting at King Hill Inn in South Paris Maine is so picturesque. This historic property dates back to 1795 and features stunning gardens and forest along with four distinctive ceremony sites including a forest, tiny chapel, and apple tree location.
This is one of my favorite venues in Maine.
4. The Stonehouse Manor, Popham Beach Maine.
Sure they can accomodate a large tented wedding. But they also have a delightful stone patio and porch that's perfect for your intimate wedding. With ivy covered walls and beautiful water views- this is a great spot to consider.
5. The Artists Bridge In Bethel, Maine
The covered bridge in Bethel Maine is a wonderfully unique spot to hold your wedding. You can hold both the ceremony and reception under the bridge allowing for both an outdoor wedding even if the weather doesn't cooperate.
6. Garden Gate at Haley Farm in Sebago, Maine
The c. 1817 barn has been fully restored with new floors, roof, and lighting. Inside the barn you will find an open floor plan with a built-in bar. Off the back of the barn is a deck overlooking the forest. Next to the barn is a lawn ideal for a tented reception or a lounge area during your cocktail hour with a fire pit. Tucked behind the barn is the wooded ceremony site with benches and birch arbor. The farmhouse sleeps 12 - 14 guests and is your home away from home for up to two nights during your wedding weekend.
7. The Bitter End, Wells Maine
New to Wells, this restaurant is already creating a lot of buzz around their delicious menu. They have a whimsical patio with bar that can accommodate 20-50 people including the use of the bar. The great part about this venue is the abundance of nearby lodging and activities for your guests. I'm partial to this venue because of it's key west vibe.
8. Maynards in Moosehead, Maine and Tomhegan of Moosehead, Maine
You get a two-fer here because I'm obsessed with Moosehead. It's one of my absolute favorite places in Maine. Both rustic venues offer options for small weddings that would be absolutely marvelous for a couple who loves the wildness.
9. Rent a Cabin in Acadia National Park Bar Harbor, Maine
So this one isn't a specific venue but rather an idea. There are numerous lakefront cabins in Maine with lovely lawns and decks to host your intimate meal and the nearby park offers endless possibilities to say your vows. Easily one of the most beautiful places on earth to hold your wedding.
10. Big Moose Inn, Millinocket, Maine
A gorgeous lakeside venue with several locations on the property to host your intimate gathering, there is really no more picturesque venue in the state of Maine. Your guests can also enjoy a stay at the lodge and enjoy a peaceful vacation.
While many couples are googling inexpensive wedding photographers in Maine in an effort to make their wedding more affordable what I often suggest is looking at your wedding as a whole. Making a wedding more simple, smaller and intimate it the best way to have a wedding that won't break the bank but will bring you closer to your loved ones.
